Gold Deathlayers
Gold Deathlayers are a stunningly beautiful and hardy landrace breed which originated in Germany over 400 years ago. The name “Deathlayer” is a translation from the German word “Totleger”, meaning “Death Layer”. There are two stories that explain the history of this name: The first is that they’re a “day layer” and over time this translation evolved into “death layer”. The other is that the name derives from a chicken that will “lay an egg per day until they die”. In either case, they both accurately describe a proficient egg layer that will provide an abundance of medium-sized white eggs.
